During the S. I B.C., the Romans who populated the space that today occupies Girona, built this powerful defensive fortress with great ashlars, many of which still exist today.
Its original perimeter comprises about 800 meters and represents the original site of the founding Girona. You can trace a part of its path by walking along the Archaeological Walk.
